We launched our Classic Reprint Series in November with our first two titles and the series has been so popular! Now we are back with TWO more new titles and they are both so good.

In each volume of those Classic Reprint series, you'll find an introduction by either Jason or Jami, focusing on why they chose this classic to be part of the series. Our goal is to bring these incredible classics back to print in a beautiful and easy to read edition. Each title is hand picked to help curate your classic library.

Triumphing Over Sinful Fear is a must-read book for every Christian.

To some degree, everyone experiences fear. It impacts the decisions we make and leaves us feeling helpless. John Flavel begins this book by examining various fears and discussing general ways God governs it in this world. He then turns to sinful fear in particular, explaining its causes and disastrous effects. His longest chapter discusses rules for dealing with sinful fear, showing how a proper fear of God is the ultimate remedy for all other fears. This practical book will help you avoid making excuses for sinful fear and encourage you to trust in Christ's commitment to settle His people's feeble and trembling hearts.

About John Flavel:

John Flavel (1630–1691), son of a Puritan minister who died in prison for his Nonconformity, was educated at University College, Oxford, and laboured for almost the entire period of his ministry at Dartmouth, Devon. Having all the characteristics of the tradition to which he belonged – a tradition which believed that preaching should be ‘hissing hot,’ searching, and expository – Flavel attained to preeminence in his ability to combine both instruction and appeal to the heart. Some Puritans might be more learned than he, and some more quaint, but for all-round usefulness none was his superior. Read more about this Puritan Presbyterian minister here.
