My slow cooker has absolutely revolutionized my kitchen. The ability to start your dinner in the morning and do all the prep and clean up right then so that when dinner time comes around, your kitchen is clean and dinner is DONE? Game changer! 

But I'm always amazed at how many women I talk to don't even own a slow cooker! Or they assume a slow cooker doesn't have much of a place in a healthy kitchen because so many slow cooker recipes out there are full of processed foods.

    What makes these recipes healthy? 

    I'm a busy homeschool mom of 8 kids who wants to prioritize healthy eating for my family without breaking the bank and also providing delicious food for my family...and I can't spend my entire day in the kitchen either. 

    Enter: Real food slow cooker meals! In this cookbook you will find down to earth, easy recipes for your family made out of real food. So you won't find a whole bunch of fancy or exotic ingredients. But neither will you find canned cream of mushroom soups, boxed cake mixes or other processed foods. 

    My goal with these recipes was to help you get real food on your table in an easy way! Throughout the cookbook I give you many tips to save time or make food even healthier. For example, you'll easily be able to used canned beans in many recipes if you need to save some time, but you'll also be given instructions if you want to make your own dried beans to save money and make them a bit healthier. 

    A few recipes contain bread: i.e. french toast! You can easily use any store-bought bread you want while focusing on the other real food ingredients OR make your own homemade bread for the ultimate health! 

    There are so many examples of this throughout the cookbook that allows you to really tailor the cookbook to how your family eats, our budget, and your time! Here's what's inside: 

    Breakfast Recipes: This is such a fun section! There are so many different kinds of breakfast recipes you can make (many of which we LOVE to have for dinner). Some of our family favorites include: breakfast burrito bowls, slow cooker granola, blueberry french toast, and the Mexican breakfast casserole. 

    Side Recipes: One of my most common ways to use my slow cooker is for making sides to dinner or lunches. The slow cooker makes it so easy! A few of our favorites include: corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, bone broth, herbed rice and applesauce! 

    Dinner recipes: If there's one place your slow cooker can revolutionize your life, it's with dinner recipes! So simple, so quick, and clean up is a breeze. We have way too many family favorites to choose, but a few of them include: Chicken enchiladas, from scratch mac & cheese, Salsa chicken with black beans, lasagna soup, and homemade meatballs! 

    Dessert Recipes: When I set out to make this cookbook, I knew I needed to beef up my folder of dessert slow cooker recipes. I really only had a couple I would make and didn't think of my slow cooker much for desserts. So I really threw myself into recipe testing and development for desserts over this past year and now we have 18 incredible slow cooker dessert recipes! Some of our favorites include: Turtle brownie pie, brown sugar cheesecake, pumpkin spice cake, and the baked apples.
